Breastfeeding Advice

Clarendon Children's Centre in Ashford town centre have a Baby Cafe every Thursday from 12.30 - 2pm. All breastfeeding parents are welcome. Support is available from an NCT advisor, a Health Visitor and a Breastfeeding Counsellor for those experiencing difficulties. No booking required.

Breast pump hire

The Children's Centre has purchased 3 Ameda Lactaline and 3 Ardo breast pumps. These operate from the mains and can be used for single or dual pumping. 

These are very simple to use and are available for hire to support mothers to breast feed their babies through their first months. We now charge £15 for the first 3 months hire which covers our costs on the sterile piece of collecting equipment that accompanies the breast pump, and which remains your property as each hirer receives a new pack.

Lending library

We have a number of books relevant to children available for free loan from the Children's Centre. The selection includes some story books with dvds, information books about a range of special needs, as well as books to help you understand your child as they develop.

We also have some books suitable to support college studies.

The books can be viewed in our reception area. Please ask before borrowing!
